Columbus Survey: Community Foundation
of
St. Joseph County Among Top 80 Largest in US
Based on the recently released Columbus Survey, the Community
Foundation of St. Joseph County again ranks among the top community
foundations in the United States, coming in seventy-ninth with
assets of $127,000,000 out of a field of approximately 500 peers.
This makes the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County the second
largest in the state of Indiana, smaller only than the Central
Indiana Community Foundation (assets of $471,000,000) which serves
Indianapolis and Marion County.
Conducted by FSG Social Impact Advisors, a nonprofit organization
that advises foundations, corporations, governments, and nonprofit
organizations, the Columbus Survey is an annual field-wide survey.
Begun in 1993 by the Columbus Foundation, it represents a comprehensive,
longitudinal view of the community foundation field. The most recent
Columbus survey was based on data from the 2008 fiscal year; rankings
based on 2009 data will be available in the second quarter of 2010.
